Yesterday I submitted some writing to an open-mic-new-writing night if that makes any sense. Basically, four actors read out seven minutes of material that I wrote and it was brilliant.
It was a scene from the opening minutes of a play I intend to write but last night these four wonderful people breathed a new kind of life into my creation and it was beautiful. It was no longer mine but ours, and I say ours including the audience because the engagement with it was fantastic.
I looked at my characters in a new way. Before it was my turn I was clinging onto my script like it was a new born baby but once I’d handed out the four copies and let these individuals follow my writing I just became overjoyed that the lines could stand on their own two feet.
it’s weird how straight boys will find out that a girl is bisexual and then think that girl wants to fuck them with another girl. And if they find out a guy is gay they think that guy wants to fuck them.
No one wants to have sex with you. You are are not cute. At all.
I know this is a large generalisation but this actually does happen due to a lot of ignorance and lack of education and just plain common sense. I admit there was a time when I had similar attitudes and it disgusts me.
